Every year around this time a select group of shows fall into "bubble" territory.

Those shows are doing well enough to stay on the air for now, but not well enough to prevent a network to decide its better to roll the dice with a rookie. These shows can range from long-running veterans possibly past their prime to freshman series that never broke from the pack.

The networks will make and unveil their final decisions during a week long event in May called "The Upfronts." This is when executives will unveil their fall schedules to advertisers and try to convince them their network has the next big series.
